C. 10 or more

If you said 10 or more, you are right! Here’s the same image with the faces circled:

Here are a few takeaways from this exercise:

  1. We tend to find what we are looking for. If we look for joy, love, blessings, and solutions, we will find them. However, if we look for sorrow, depression, sadness, and problems, we will find these, too. This is why having a positive, compelling vision for our lives is so important. It pulls us toward the outcomes we desire. This is why Jesus says in Matthew 7:7-8, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
  2. The closer we look, the more we find. When I first saw the image, I only saw six faces. When I reviewed the image again, I saw more faces that I had not seen before. Seeing our vision, or visualization, each day activates the creative powers of our subconscious mind and programs our brain to notice available resources that were always there but previously escaped our notice.
  3. Perception is not always reality. For a moment, I perceived that there were only six faces in the picture, but this was not the truth. There were 10 faces. In the same way, some people say, “Our perception is our reality.” However, we sometimes believe lies and are deceived. This is why it is important for us to go to the ultimate source of truth, Jesus Christ, for His vision for our lives. Without His guidance, our visions are skewed based on what we think is best for us but not rooted in God’s will or His best for our lives. Many are the plans of our hearts, but the Lord’s purpose will always prevail (Proverbs 19:21).
