Keep Your Vision Before You

I created a vision board in January 2018 but misplaced it and never redid it. 2018 was a great year, but I wonder how much more I could have accomplished if I had kept the vision board in front of me to focus on it. I don’t even remember half the items I put on the board.

We move toward what we consistently see. If we see nothing, then we get nothing. But if we see images long enough, our subconscious minds ask, “What can I do to make it happen?”

God Himself is a visionary and knows the importance of us keep our visions before our eyes. Check out His words in Habakkuk 2:2-3 (The Living Bible):

And the Lord said to me, “Write my answer on a billboard,[a] large and clear, so that anyone can read it at a glance and rush to tell the others. But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow,[b] do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!

I vowed not to repeat the mistake of 2018 in 2019. I “wrote my answer” for 2019 with a digital vision board in December 2018. I added it to my phone photos and notes. I also recorded myself speaking each item on my board so I can see and hear it every day. As of this writing on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, I have already touched 10 items on my vision board. Here are three examples:

As part of my graphic design project vision, I completed the above flyer for my brother Alton Williams, Jr’s fitness business T.R.A.P. on Friday, December 28, 2018.
For one of my fun goals, I attended Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods concert on Saturday, January 12, 2019. I also created this vision board for him as a thank you for the amazing experience my sister Sheronda and I enjoyed at his last concert in May 2018. More on that in another post….
I hosted a Mary Kay vision board party with National Sales Director Lady Beverly Stephens and her team on Monday, January 14, 2019.

This article is a fulfillment of one of my visions. Why? I am keeping the vision before me.

So I ask you, “What vision is before your eyes?” Remember, what we see is what we get!
