My stunning sister Joy Sherice Williams, a leader of leaders, turns 22 today.
I have watched Joy grow into an anointed, excellent, fabulous, and courageous woman. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha and a newly inducted member of the educational honor society Kappa Delta Pi. She is also a member of the Littleton H. Mason Singers, a volunteer with Chattanooga community organization Circle K International, a member of the Black Student Alliance, and a member of Post-Secondary Awareness with Success (PAWS), a group that exposes elementary students to college as an opportunity.
At the age of 18, she served as recreational director for World Overcomers Church’s summer camp. Through her innovation, children in grades K-6 enjoyed a Dream Camp with various activities to nourish their creativity. She also set up a Dream Store where kids could purchase gifts such as candy and toys based on play money they received for their classwork.
Joy worked at Express Store last summer. One of her managers gravitated to her, and Joy’s love, example and witness encouraged the manager to give her life to Christ.
This year Joy taught children as part of her student teaching education requirement. Her presentation is poised, polished, and professional. Below is a clip of her in action.
I can’t wait to see what God has in store for Joy. She graduates from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga with honors in May 2019.
